Have you had the chance to experience the electrifying atmosphere of an SUU football or basketball game, or felt the excitement of the homecoming parade? If so, you've likely witnessed the incredible impact of the Thunderbird Marching Band! Since its return two years ago, the band has made a remarkable difference, bringing energy and spirit to our campus and community.
In July of 2022, we proudly welcomed David Torres as the new Director of Athletic Bands. With his expertise and passion for marching bands, Mr. Torres is dedicated to building the best Athletic Bands program in Utah. But he can't do it alone - he needs your support!
Our Progress So Far
Since Torres's arrival, the Thunderbird Marching Band has been hitting all the right notes, experiencing significant growth and earning recognition for their outstanding performances. But with great growth comes the need for more instruments, and these aren't your average instruments - we need brass instruments, essential for the rich, vibrant sound of our marching band!We're in urgent need of mellophones, baritones, and sousaphones to keep our musical journey marching forward.
Brass Instrument Costs
Mellophones: $1500 each
Baritones: $2500 each
Sousaphones: $7000 each
Every Donation Makes a Difference
Our goal is to raise $7,000, which will allow us to acquire 3 mellophones and 1 baritone. However, any and all contributions, regardless of size, will greatly impact the future of our program. Your support will enable us to continue providing exceptional musical experiences for our students and audiences alike.
Our Special Offer
To raise funds for these crucial instruments, one of our talented band members has transformed original SUU band uniforms into unique pillows. These limited-edition pillows not only serve as a piece of SUU memorabilia but also as a symbol of your support for our program. With only 68 pillows, we invite you to contribute to our cause by making a donation of $115 (or more!), and we will send you one of these exclusive pillows as a token of our gratitude. Why 115? It represents our current number of band members, and that number is growing every year!
